New features and updates for February are here! Check out these amazing new features that we have added from the awesome suggestions you have been making to help improve Spark!

πŸ”₯ Week 4 Updates πŸ”₯

NEW Video Feature on Online Schedulers

You will now be able to include videos on your appointment online scheduler pages which will be shown while a contact is selecting a time slot to book. You will be able to find this new feature by editing your Appointment Type settings and scrolling towards the bottom of the page where you will find the field titled: Video URL. Once you add a video link on that field, it will be shown on your scheduler page as shown on the image below:

Optional Surcharge Setting for Paid Appointment Types

When you edit your appointment type settings, you will be able to find a new checkbox towards the bottom of the page titled: 'Apply CC Surcharge?' which will automatically apply the surcharge to the appointment payment when enabled. Please note that this will only work for appointments set as 'Paid Appointments' and if the surcharge percentage is set up in the Point of Sale Settings.

Optional Timezone Merge Tag for Appointment Emails/SMS messages

We have now added a merge tag for appointment time zones which will allow you to choose if you want to include the time zone on your appointment emails and/or sms reminders. This can be especially useful in keeping your character count down when it comes to the sms reminders as it can help prevent the messages from using multiple sms credits for a singular message. When you edit your appointment types and scroll to the sms and email fields you will be able to find the merge tag {APPOINTMENT-TIMEZONE}. You can choose if and where you want that information shown.

Option to Update Email Template from Contact Profiles

You will now have the ability to make updates to your saved email templates when sending it out to a contact from their profile. Once you select an email template to use as the base of your email and make any changes, you will find an option below the Save as Email Template option titled: 'Update Selected Email Template' as shown in the image below which once clicked will save the adjustments on your existing template.

Option to Assign Appointment Types to Multiple Scheduler Groups

With this change you will be able to add your appointment types to multiple scheduler groups. You will be able to find this new change by editing your appointment types settings and scrolling until you find the field titled: Online Scheduler Group.

Bug Fixes/Adjustments:

  • Fixed an issue with drag and drop functionality on the Rank Style Setup page not working on mobile devices.

  • Fixed an issue with cancelled memberships reopening a new slot on the calendar with the old contact's details still being attached.

  • Fixed an issue with the Lead & Trial Maximizer not properly filtering by specific date ranges.

  • Fixed an issue with tagged students not appearing on the All Contacts report.

  • Fixed an issue with the Shopping Cart not displaying the participant label added on the settings page.

  • Fixed an issue with the cash transactions filter not working on the Financial Transactions report.

  • Fixed an issue with updating income category names not retroactively being updated on the Transactions by Category report.

  • Fixed an issue with the Add Time button on the Staff Time Slips report not working when clicked.

  • Fixed an issue with items showing as no longer having quantities available on the shopping cart despite them having multiple quantities remaining.

  • Fixed an issue with emails being updated from the digital agreement page not being updated on the membership details page.

  • Fixed an issue with the Instructor Hours Taught report not reporting correct data.

  • Fixed an issue with the Financial Forecast report including members who are placed on hold indefinitely.

  • Fixed an issue with the default email on action steps being listed as the staff member's email instead of the business email address.

  • Fixed an issue with the Update Payment Method not allowing to be sent from the business email address.

  • Fixed an issue with the contacts on the Spark Dashboard not being displayed correctly due to image height differences.

  • Fixed an issue with the Quit Reason not being added to the Quit Contact's report when a contact's membership is scheduled to be cancelled on a future date and is set to be automatically be changed to a former contact.

  • Fixed an issue with products that are made inactive or archived still being included on packages.

  • Added scroll bar text on the Spark receipts when viewed from mobile devices.

  • Added Push Notifications on the Sparktan app when a task is assigned to a staff member.

  • Added the ability to make the gender option: 'Not Applicable' optional on the sign agreement page, this can be changed on the Contact Gender page.

  • Added the ability to sort by first name on the Attendance by Roster page.

  • Added additional logs on contact profile to show when someone's name is changed from the digital agreement sign page.

  • Added the ability to mass add/remove rosters from roster groups on the Roster Setup page mass actions menu.

  • Added the option to filter by tags on the Members Conversion report.

Spark Enrollment Kiosk Down Payment Email Template

We have added a way for you to edit the email that gets sent out when a down payment is charged for a membership via the Spark Enrollment Kiosk. You will also have the ability to enable/disable the email completely. this new template will be found by navigating to your left side menu, Settings>Memberships, clicking on the 'Settings' tab at the top of the page, and scrolling down until you find a field titled: Send Automatic Receipt for SEK Downpayments?. Once enabled, the email template will become visible. After making your edits, make sure to click on the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Digital Agreement Sign & Re-Sign SMS Message Templates

With this new addition, you will be able to change the default verbiage for the sms messages that can be sent to contacts that need to sign/re-sign their membership agreement. You will be able to find these new templates by navigating to your left side menu, Settings>Memberships, clicking on the 'Settings' tab at the top of the page, and scrolling down until you find the fields titled: SMS Digital Agreement & SMS Re-Sign Digital Agreement. After making your edits, make sure to click on the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

NEW Staff Time Slip Notes

With this new option, you will be able to apply notes to your staff member's time slip(s)! This can be useful for a myriad of reasons such as notating why a staff member left early for the day or why someone started later than expected, etc. You will be able to find this new option by navigating to your left side menu, Reports>Staff Time Slips and editing a staff member's time. You will also be able to see a 'Notes' column at the very right of the report as shown in the image below:

Bug Fixes/Adjustments:

  • Fixed an issue with barcodes missing from the print view when printing contact barcode labels.

  • Fixed an issue with appointment reminder text messages not being sent out to contacts.

  • Fixed an issue with Intake Forms not appearing on the Spark Enrollment Kiosk.

  • Fixed an issue with taxed items not being shown properly on the Sales Tax report.

  • Fixed issues with Bambora payment gateways.

  • Fixed issues with Stripe Payment gateways.

  • Fixed an issue with names, phone numbers, and emails being entered with spaces not automatically removing the blank spaces after being added.

  • Fixed an issue with the Franchise Dashboard KPIs not matching the dashboard stats.

  • Fixed an issue with the Gross Active Member count including former members in the number.

  • Made adjustments on the Contacts Without Roster report to export the Excel file in .xlsx format.

NEW Automation Trigger Based On When a Membership Payment Date is Due

This new automation trigger will allow you to set up actions to be taken for you before, on the day of, and/or after a contact's payment due date has elapsed. You will also have the ability to have the automation only work for contacts on a particular membership or for a particular contact type. You will be able to find this new trigger by navigating to your left side menu>Automations and either creating a new automation or editing an existing one.

Participant Label on Shopping Cart

You will now be able to add a custom contact label to the Contact Information page on your Shopping Cart so instead of the form just asking for First and Last Name, you could have it ask for Contact's First and Last name as an example. You will be able to find this new field by navigating to your left side menu>Shopping Cart and clicking on the 'Settings' tab at the top of the page.

NEW Duplicate RSVP Event Option

We have added the ability to duplicate existing Ignite RSVP pages so if you have a really awesome event page that you created in the past which you want use for a new upcoming event, you will be able to quickly and easily duplicate existing event and make the adjustments as necessary. You will be able to find this new option by navigating to your left side menu>Spark Ignite, clicking on the 'Birthday RSVP Machine' button at the top of the page, and clicking on the 'Actions' dropdown next to the event you want to duplicate.

Bug Fixes/Adjustments:

  • Fixed an issue with the tags filter not allowing clients to filter their contact list by a singular tag.

  • Fixed an issue with In House invoices not automatically being created on the membership due date.

  • Fixed an issue with the MIA Maximizer not displaying the correct last seen value for contacts that have not attended over a week ago.

  • Fixed an issue with the 'Pause All' option not working for Ignite Automations.

  • Fixed an issue with the Contact Phases tab on the Lead & Trial Maximizer timing out.

  • Fixed an issue with the Last Attempt date on the Past Due Memberships dashboard widget being off by a day.

  • Fixed an issue with a character limit being enforced on the push notification messages being sent from the All Contacts report.

  • Fixed an issue with the Expiring Card sms message still being sent to phone numbers that have been unsubscribed.

  • Fixed an issue with 'Name' sort order not working for the Student's Without Ranks list on the Current Ranks Report.

  • Fixed an issue with tasks not being displayed in the correct date format for accounts using the DMY date format.

  • Fixed an issue with membership names appearing twice on the Lead & Trial Maximize On Trials tab.

  • Fixed an issue with the Online Scheduler not auto populating contact information for existing members/contacts on the contact information fields.

  • Fixed an issue with the checkout page purchase emails not displaying the custom field answers/values correctly when multiple participant purchases are made.

  • Re-added the Detailed Report print option on the Financial Transactions report.

Added Spam & Bounced/Dropped/Deferred Columns on the Email Logs Page

With this new change you will be able to easily see which contacts were not just sent an email through your account but you will now also be able to see who's email was sent to their spam folder or which emails were marked as bounced, dropped, or deferred without needing to go to their profile to view this information. You will be able to find this change by navigating to your left side menu, Communication Center>Email Logs.

Bug Fixes/Adjustments:

  • Fixed an issue with the contact type not changing when selecting to 'Stop Following Up' with a contact from the Lead & Trial Maximizer.

  • Fixed an issue with not being able to edit line items on invoices that contain special characters or punctuation in the text.

  • Fixed an issue with not being able to view replaced memberships on the All Memberships report.

  • Fixed an issue with the Marketing Sources Help & Support article video referencing the wrong feature.

  • Fixed an issue with the email toolbar not appearing on contact profiles when attempting to send a contact an email.

  • Fixed an issue with the Financial Forecast report not displaying the figures for the following month when viewing the report at the end of the current month.

  • Fixed an issue with mass rank promotion rosters displaying the incorrect number of contacts on the list when choosing to change the promotion date for an existing promotion roster.

  • Fixed an issue with the Spark Enrollment Kiosk redirecting to a blank screen when adding a membership that has no digital agreement set up in the membership template.

  • Made a change on the Staff Logins page where when you edit/create a new staff login and enable the 'Is Business Owner' permission, it will automatically enable the 'Can Access Sparktan app' toggle by default as well.

  • Added the ability to use the {COMPANY-NAME} merge tag on all places you can send sms messages from in Spark.
