If you would like to see all of your Spark appointments and events directly in your personal Google Calendar, there are a few steps you need to take.
Spark also offers a structured calendar system, enabling seamless integration with internal and external scheduling tools, though limited external automation is currently supported.
Syncing is limited to one calendar per staff member, and sub-calendars are not supported. Additionally, syncing updates may take up to 15 minutes to reflect changes.
Navigate to Settings > Calendar > Settings.
Enable "2-Way Sync" to allow synchronization.
Go to the left-side menu > Calendar.
When setting up appointments, select which staff member to sync to. Ensure that the assigned staff member's email matches the connected Google account to enable proper syncing.
If you do not wish to sync the appointment to a staff member’s calendar, leave it set to “Do not sync to Google Calendar.” If syncing issues persist, try disconnecting and reconnecting the Google account in Spark.
Additionally, you can assign specific time slots to each appointment type to avoid overlaps, ensuring a well-organized calendar. Note that busy blocks in Google Calendar do not automatically block bookings in Spark. To prevent bookings, mark unavailable slots directly in Spark.
NOTE: It's important to note that AI and Ignite automations within Spark Membership are not compatible with external calendar systems. Additionally, sub-calendars are not supported, and only the main calendar can be synced.
Troubleshooting and Best Practices
Common Sync Issues and Solutions
Appointments Not Syncing
Verify Sync Settings: Ensure 2-Way Sync is enabled in Settings > Calendar > Settings and confirm Google Sync is turned on in Spark.
Check Staff Assignment: Appointments must be assigned to a staff member whose email matches the connected Google account.
Reconnect Google Account: Disconnect and reconnect the Google account in Spark if issues persist.
Delays in Syncing
Google Sync checks for updates every 15 minutes. Refresh your screen after this period to see if changes appear.
Group Calendar Syncing
For shared group calendars, ensure appointments are assigned to the correct staff member whose email matches the group calendar's email. Only one calendar can sync per staff member. Verify that the correct account is linked.
Managing Visibility Settings
Former Contacts’ Appointments
Appointments for contacts marked as "Former" will not appear on the Spark calendar unless you:
Change the contact type to "Active."
Enable the calendar setting to show appointments for former contacts.
Hidden Appointments
If appointments are visible in the contact’s profile but not on the calendar, check the visibility settings for former contacts.
Sync Limitations and Best Practices
Sub-Calendars: Spark does not support syncing sub-calendars. Only the main calendar can be synced.
Busy Blocks in Google Calendar: Busy blocks in Google Calendar do not automatically block bookings in Spark. To prevent bookings, mark unavailable slots directly in Spark.
Un-Booked Time Slots: Sync un-booked time slots if you want them to appear on your calendar. Otherwise, leave this option unchecked.
