The automation will trigger when a membership is expiring. This is a great automation for preparing members to renew their membership.

NOTE: You would have to create separate automations for separate memberships, since there isn't a way to add multiple memberships to one automation at this time.

To set up the automation:

  1. Go to the left-side menu > More Features > Automations.

  2. Click Add New Automation.

  3. Set the trigger to When a Membership is Expiring.

  4. Select the contact type this automation will apply to, such as trial, active, or all.

  5. (Optional) Use include or exclude tags to further filter which students the automation applies to.

  6. Once the trigger settings are complete, start adding your action steps, such as sending emails, SMS messages, or changing the contact type.

IMPORTANT: If you add an action step to change the contact type to Former once the membership expires, it will cancel any active or new memberships the student has. To prevent this, it is recommended to add the option to cancel this action step if the student renews or if a new membership is added, so that new memberships are not accidentally canceled.
