Cancelling memberships is, unfortunately, just as common as adding new ones, so it is important to understand the process when a student decides to stop training. There are a few ways to cancel a membership from the profile. If you have a set end date, you can schedule the cancellation so payments stop after a specific date. If the student wants to cancel immediately, you can process the cancellation right away.
To cancel a membership:
Open the student’s profile.
Scroll down to the Memberships section.
Locate the membership and click on the Actions menu.
Select Cancel Membership.
Enter the required details, including the reason for cancellation (for your notes), cancellation date, and quit category (for reporting purposes).
Choose whether to change the contact type to Former Member after the cancellation. This is recommended if the student has no other active memberships, as it will remove them from your Active Student count.
Click Cancel Membership.
If you want to schedule the cancellation for a future date, select the desired date before clicking Cancel Membership. This will schedule the cancellation instead of processing it immediately. You can stop the scheduled cancellation or reinstate the membership at any time by returning to the membership and clicking Reinstate Membership.
Once a membership is cancelled, the system will no longer collect payments for it, and it will be removed from your active memberships list. It will also be reflected as a loss in your cancelled memberships net billing for the month it was cancelled.
