Late payments happen all the time, whether due to insufficient funds or issues with a payment method. While collecting payments on time is not always possible, Spark allows you to apply a penalty after a certain number of days past the due date. You can set up late fees that are automatically applied to a tuition payment a specified number of days after the due date on the membership.
Below are the steps to set this up, as well as how to disable it for individual members:
Go to the left-side menu and click on Settings, then select Memberships.
Navigate from the Memberships tab to the General tab.
Scroll down to the Charge Late Fees section.
βEnter the amount to be applied to the installment.
Select how many days after the due date the late fee should be applied.
You can disable late fees for specific members when adding a membership or by editing their membership details from their profile. Scroll down to the late fee section within the membership details and turn the option off if needed.
NOTE: In addition to disabling late fees for individual students, you can also customize the late fee amount and timing per student when adding or editing their membership.
