Do you have any announcements or important information you wanted to provide your members with in mass? If so, mass messaging your Member App users requires ensuring that permissions are set up correctly to enable push notifications.
After this, push notifications can be sent via a push notification, which they will instantaneously receive on their device and will be able to respond to as long as they are logged into the app.
Messaging your Member App users via push notification through the app is also great as messaging through the app itself will not use up any of your SMS credits so it will allow you to save some money on that.
Important Note: Enabling Push Notification Permissions
To enable this functionality:
Left Side Menu Bar > Settings > under General section > Staff Logins
Under "Staff Logins" page, click "Actions" button and then select "View / Edit Staff Member".
After selecting that, scroll down to "Permissions" section and toggle ON the "Can Send SMS/Email/Push Notification Campaigns" option. Make sure to click "Save" afterwards. Without this enabled, mass notifications cannot be initiated.
To message your Member App users in mass, follow these steps:
Left Side Menu Bar > More Features > Member App
Under "Spark Member App" page, scroll down and select "Messaging" tab then click "Mass Actions" button. Here, you can select whether a specific amount of selected students or everyone on the list, then just type away!
NOTE: You can only message contacts on the member app as long as they are actively logged into the app. If they have not installed or are not actively logged into the app, you will not be able to send them a Member App message.
Troubleshooting Messaging Issues
If a Member App user does not receive a push notification despite being logged in, confirm their login status and app functionality. For persistent issues, consider asking the user to uninstall and reinstall the app from their respective app store. This resolves most common errors related to cached data.
