You can delete individual contacts or multiple contacts in SPARK MEMBERSHIP. Before deleting a contact, confirm that the profile is no longer needed and is not being used for an active investigation or troubleshooting.
Delete a Single Contact
Go to the contact's profile page.
Click Edit to edit the contact.
Scroll to the bottom of the Edit page.
Click Delete This Contact.
Follow any prompts to complete the deletion.
If You Don't See "Delete This Contact"
Not all users have permission to delete contacts.
If Delete This Contact does not appear at the bottom of the Edit page:
Contact the account owner to request the appropriate permissions.
Alternatively, ask the account owner or another staff member with delete permissions to delete the contact.
Delete Multiple Contacts
To delete more than one contact at a time:
Go to Left Side Menu > Contacts > All Contacts.
Select the contacts you want to delete.
Scroll to the bottom of the contact grid.
Use the available Mass Action for the selected contacts to delete them.
Warning: Be careful when using the Check All option. It may select more contacts than are currently visible if the contact list contains multiple pages.
When Not to Delete a Contact
Avoid deleting a contact if the profile is currently:
Under investigation
Being used to diagnose or troubleshoot an issue
Needed for an ongoing support case
Deleting the profile too early could remove information needed to resolve the issue. Wait until the investigation or troubleshooting process is complete before deleting the contact.
Before Deleting Duplicate Contacts
If two contact profiles belong to the same person, you may not need to delete one of them.
Spark has a Merge Contact tool that can combine two contact profiles into one. Consider merging the contacts instead if information from both profiles needs to be retained.
Troubleshooting
I don't see the Delete This Contact option.
Verify that you have permission to delete contacts. If not, contact the account owner or another staff member with the appropriate permissions.
Should I delete a contact that's being investigated?
No. Keep the contact profile until the investigation or troubleshooting is complete to avoid losing information that may be needed.
I have duplicate contact profiles. Should I delete one?
Consider using the Merge Contact tool instead if information from both profiles should be preserved.
