How to request a PCI Compliant Transfer of financial (CC & EFT) from PaySimple to USAePay or other payment gateway

PaySimple holds the financial data for studios migrating from ZenPlanner, as well as other platforms that use PaySimple as their payment processor. If you would like your contacts' credit card and ACH information transferred to Spark, you will need to contact PaySimple directly to request an export. Please note this process can take anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks depending on current queue times. We recommend starting this process as early as possible and signing up any new contacts directly in Spark during the transfer to avoid losing their data.

What's Included in This Transfer

  • Credit card data

  • ACH/bank account data (if applicable)

Before You Begin

Please ensure your payment gateway is set up in Spark before starting this request. Refer to our Merchant and Merchant Fees guide for more information. https://help.sparkmembership.com/en/articles/5273152-merchant-and-merchant-fees-information

Please also be aware of the following before contacting PaySimple:

  • Cost - PaySimple charges a base fee of $1,000 per export request (last known cost as of August 2024 - confirm directly with PaySimple for current pricing).

  • Matching - PaySimple's export is missing identifiers that allow our team to automatically match cards to your contacts. Once we receive the exported data, your team will need to manually match each card to the correct contact in Spark before we can import it.

  • Alternative - To avoid the $1,000 fee and the manual matching process, you can use Spark's free Credit Card Recollection feature instead. Refer to our guide here: https://help.sparkmembership.com/en/articles/6671007-credit-card-recollection

Requesting the transfer

To get started, call PaySimple directly at (800) 466-0992 and request a PCI Compliant export of your contacts' financial data. Let them know the data will be transferred to USAePay, a Level 1 PCI Compliant payment gateway. From there, PaySimple will set up an email chain including you, our team, and USAePay to finalize the transfer. Please make sure to CC us at [email protected] when that email thread is created so we can assist with the remainder of the process from there.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does this transfer cost? PaySimple charges a base fee of $1,000 per export request (last known cost as of August 2024). We recommend confirming the current rate directly with PaySimple when you call.

How long will the transfer take? Typically 6 to 8 weeks depending on current queue volume. We recommend submitting your request as early as possible to avoid delays.

What is the matching process and why is it needed? PaySimple's export file can be missing the identifiers our team would normally use to automatically match cards to your contacts in Spark. Because of this, your team will need to manually match each card to the correct contact once we receive the data. This is unique to PaySimple and is something to factor in when deciding whether to proceed with the transfer or use the recollection feature instead.

Is there a free alternative? Yes - Spark's Credit Card Recollection feature allows you to collect payment methods directly from your contacts without any transfer fee or manual matching. Refer to our guide here: https://help.sparkmembership.com/en/articles/6671007-credit-card-recollection

Do I need to do anything while the transfer is in progress? Yes - continue signing up any new members directly in Spark during the transfer period to make sure their card data is captured in the new system. Any clients not entered into Spark during the transfer will not have their financial data brought over.
